Like designing stuff? Like explaining stuff? Like working at home so that you can hang up your washing in between jobs while playing air guitar to classic Queen tracks on the radio?
If you can answer all three of these questions with an emphatic “yes” (or just the first two and are able to offer at least a kind of embarrassed nod on the Queen thing…), then you might be just what we at SAXOPRINT are looking for to offer high-quality step-by-step tutorials on how to design print products, create font effects, and whatever you can think of that may be on interest to our readers and customers.
Apart from being a freelance graphic designer and enjoying working remotely, what else is important?
Pleaze must has the good Eenglish skills (either English or Lolcatz native speaker or comparable level)
Speaking ze German would be beneficial, ja!
Very good (as in: certified BANGING) knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator and/or InDesign and/or GIMP
Background knowledge of printing business (you know, like, putting stuff on paper with, like, ink…) would be good…
…as would SEO and WordPress knowledge (although we’ll help you out here if you need us to)
You must heart the internet with a capital H.
And apart from air-guitar to Queen and eating Cheesy Whatsits out of the bag, what will you be doing?
We’ll need one of these pieces of insightful brilliance once a month or so
You’ll need to optimise this amazing work for SEO
We’ll give you topics – but we’re not exactly made of them and so your suggestions are welcome, too!
Interested? Not frightened by our somewhat non-standard approach to job advert copy? Then pop us over a CV with your fee per tutorial and a few examples of your previous work to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wanted: Freelance blog editor
Know things about printing? Interested in telling other people about these things? Capable of stringing together not just one, but several sentences in a mildly coherent and entertaining fashion? Well, that’s great, because we are looking for talented and creative editors to supply the SAXOPRINT Blog UK with informative and appealing articles about topics around printing and design. We’d need to you explain basics in design and advertising, as well as print-related topics such as how to create artwork, in such a way as people neither click away from the site, die of boredom at their computer screens, or tear out their hair shouting “oh why? Oh why must I be subjected to such mediocre writing!”
Think you can take care of that for us? Great. Now, do you:
have very good English writing skills (preferably native speaker)?
sprechen ze Deutsch? (It would be great if you did…)
offer a good knowledge of printing business (i.e. beyond once having had an inkjet printer at home)
have a background knowledge of graphic design (like, on computers)?
understand SEO and WordPress? (Although if you don’t, we’ll help out)
have MUCH LOVE for the internet?
If you do, then you might find yourself:
formulating high-quality articles on a freelance basis (roughly 600 words per article)
working for us once a week tops
optimising your words for SEO
implementing both our and your own topics.
Interested? Not frightened by our somewhat non-standard approach to job advert copy? Then pop us over a CV with your fee per text and a few examples of your previous work to email@example.com.
