Following our recent foray into the world of award shows, we decided that another few flutes of champagne and the odd tray of chichi canapés wouldn’t go amiss: so we’re sponsoring another award with a swanky ceremony this Thursday! Now, as much as we enjoy the high-life, it’s not just about the bubbly. No, really: SAXOPRINT believes in supporting excellence, and so we are absolutely delighted to be the patrons of the prestigious Agency of the Year category at this year’s Marketing Week Engage Awards 2014.
The Marketing Week Awards celebrate the very best work in advertising annually, and we are looking forward to retrospective of 2013’s most exciting, engaging, and excellent campaigns. There’s a very strong shortlist featuring big-name companies such as Channel 4 and Coca Cola, but one of the pleasures of this type of award is finding out about smaller or less high-profile, but nonetheless excellent work that we might otherwise have missed. Categories include business sectors (e.g. work in Automotive or Retail) and disciplines (customer relationship management, PR, etc.) and channels (i.e. digital, newspaper & magazine, outdoor).
Our category is one of the Special Categories: Agency of the Year. It was created there to reward particularly creative or particularly successful agencies who responded in an agile, exciting, or unexpected way to changes in the market, helping the clients to place their message with more impact and more return on their investments.
Last year’s winners, AMV BBDO, have made the shortlist again, but will have some trouble fighting off a very strong pack of fellow nominees: adam&eveDDB, Carat UK, Cheil UK, Holler, MediaCom and WCRS. adam&eveDDB, for example, won its fourth award at the Canne Lions just a few days back, so they’re on winning form, while Carat UK were on the British Airways campaign that also picked up 9 awards there. So when we say it’s a strong shortlist, we really mean it!
Excited about the results? So are we! Just because we’re sponsors, doesn’t mean we know any more about what the judges are thinking than you do. We will be there on the evening, though, of course (wouldn’t want to miss all that champagne…), and will be sure to publish the results here as soon as we can – so stay tuned, fellow awards-ceremonies addicts, stay tuned…
